You don’t need expensive gear to make dramatically better coffee at home. A few fundamentals change everything.
1) Buy fresher beans. Roast date matters more than brand.
2) Grind right before brewing. Pre-ground coffee loses aroma fast.
3) Use a scale. Coffee is chemistry; consistency wins.
4) Use cleaner water. Bad water flattens great beans.
5) Dial your ratio. Start at 1:16 (coffee:water), then adjust.
6) Control brew time. Too fast tastes sour, too slow tastes bitter.
7) Keep equipment clean. Old oils ruin flavor.
For single-origin coffees, pour-over highlights origin character best. Use medium-fine grind, 92–96°C water, and a steady pour.
At AgThrive, every coffee is roasted to order so freshness does the heavy lifting before brewing even starts.
